Homemade Chicken Pies with Creamy Vegetable Filling and Buttery Crust
Ingredients (Makes about 12)
For the dough:
2½ cups (312 g) all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar (skip for savory)
200 g cold butter (cubed)
6–8 tbsp ice-cold water
For filling (choose one):

For brushing:
1 egg + 1 tbsp milk
✅ Instructions
1️⃣ Make the Dough:
Mix flour, salt, and sugar.
Rub in cold butter with your fingers until crumbs form.
Add ice water gradually until dough forms.
Wrap and chill 30 minutes.
2️⃣ Shape the Pies:
Roll dough thin.
Cut circles using a cup.
Add 1 tbsp filling in center.
Cover with another circle.
Press edges with a fork (like in your image).
3️⃣ Finish & Bake:
Brush with egg wash.
Pierce tops lightly with fork.
Bake at 180°C (356°F) for 20–25 min until golden.
