Ingredients:
4-5 pork bone pieces (with marrow)
6 cups water
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, chopped
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon ginger, grated
1/2 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Optional: 1 tablespoon fish sauce for extra umami
Instructions:
Prepare the pork bones: Rinse the pork bones under cold water to remove any impurities.
Make the broth: In a large pot, add the pork bones and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 1.5 to 2 hours to extract the rich flavor from the bones. Skim off any foam that forms on top.
Season the broth: After simmering, add the sesame oil, garlic, onion, soy sauce, salt, pepper, and ginger to the pot. Stir well and let the soup simmer for another 30 minutes.
Garnish: Once the soup is ready, ladle it into bowls and top with freshly chopped green onions for a burst of freshness.
Serve: Serve hot with steamed rice or enjoy it as is. Optionally, add a splash of fish sauce for an extra layer of flavor. Enjoy your hearty pork bone soup!
